Stuttgart – On the occasion of today’s today’s World Bee Day, Daimler Mobility is setting up three beehives at its headquarters, thus setting another mark in the company’s core value sustainability. By colonising the roof, the company is committed to protecting bees that are threatened with extinction.
Franz Reiner, CEO of Daimler Mobility AG, is enthusiastic about this valuable initiative, known as urban beekeeping: “We are very pleased that we are able to offer several bee colonies a home at our location from today. Bees are an important pillar for biodiversity and with this project we can actively contribute to the protection of our ecosystem.”
With the installation of the hives, five bee colonies will move to the site, which will contain up to 250,000 bees over the summer months.
At Daimler Mobility, the focus is on sustainability. The aim is to become climate neutral in all activities by the end of 2022. In addition, sustainability is a core element of the corporate values at Daimler Mobility. With employee ideas, such as the installation of hives on unused land, the value is lived and nature conservation is promoted.
World Bee Day was proclaimed by the United Nations in December 2017 and has been held annually since 2018. This day is intended to focus on the importance of bees in their elementary role as pollinators.
