The Costa Coffee chain has partnered with charging network InstaVolt to install DC fast chargers at up to 200 of its drive-through sites across the UK.
The stations will offer power levels of up to 120 kW. Drivers will pay for charging on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Costa Coffee, which has over 9,000 coffee bars in the UK, already operates a network of 176 charging points at selected locations around the country.
“In the time it takes for our consumers to order and enjoy their favourite Costa coffee, they can add an extra 100 miles in range and help our country reach its net-zero ambition,” said Costa Coffee UK and Ireland Property Director James Hamilton.
“We are on a mission to offer InstaVolt rapid chargers across easily accessible and popular locations throughout the country,” said InstaVolt CEO Adrian Keen. “EV charging needs to slip into customers’ everyday lives, and by partnering with Costa Coffee, we’re able to take additional steps towards combatting range anxiety in the UK.”
