Today is the sum he should pay the European auto giant in damages for his role in the dieselgate scandal.
In the process, an agreement with a consortium of insurers to cover the civil liability of other leaders should be finalized “in the coming days”, confirms a spokesperson for the group. Volkswagen could receive between 200 and 300 million euros from insurers to also settle its accounts with Rupert Stadler, Ulrich Hackenberg and Stefan Knirsch at Audi, and Wolfgang Hatz at Porsche.
