New Delhi: Mainstreaming the agenda of sustainability and human resources (HR) for achieving its vision of being among the global top 10 commercial vehicle manufacturers, Ashok Leyland on Tuesday appointed N V Balachander to head a new division of Sustainability as president of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives, and Amanpreet Singh as president and head of HR, Ashok Leyland.
In line with its vision to rank among the global top 10 in the commercial vehicle business, the company plans to strengthen the sustainability agenda through its ESG initiatives in line with the global best practices.
The other foundational pillar to achieve its vision, according to the company, is the agenda of ‘People’ in line with contemporary global practices. Amanpreet Singh is expected to steer the company’s human resources strategy in the current transformational context.
Now Balachander is the president of HR, Communication and CSR and he will continue to handle the other portfolio of Communication, CSR and Corporate Affairs, the company said in a release.
Singh is currently vice president of Group HR, Hinduja Group. He has been with the Hinduja Group in Mumbai since December 2019 working closely with the Group HR Head on the strategic aspects of Group HR.
