Dusseldorf According to a media report, prosecutors searched two companies because of a possible involvement of employees of the automotive supplier Continental in the VW diesel affair. Investigators were at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg on June 9 and at the development service provider IAV in Gifhorn on June 17, “WirtschaftsWoche” reported on Thursday in advance, citing the public prosecutor’s office.
The companies were asked to surrender documents or electronic data. “We are currently waiting for the data to be transmitted,” said the investigators. VW and IAV confirmed the searches to “WirtschaftsWoche”, Conti did not want to comment because of the ongoing proceedings.
