Ford and MS-RT announce £4m facility at Ford Dagenham

Ford and MS-RT, the design-led automotive engineering company, have announced they will create a new £4m facility at Ford Dagenham. This move will only strengthen an already strong relationship with Ford as they work together to create specialised Ford Vehicles.

This investment has the potential to create over 120 jobs when the factory is fully functional, allowing Ford to provide a great employment boost in one of the UK’s most deprived areas.

“This latest Ford and MS-RT cooperation supports Ford’s vision of expanding business opportunities at Ford Dagenham in addition to continuing to produce advanced technology diesel engines and builds on our plan to grow our market presence through strategic relationships with key vehicle converters,” said Paul Baynes, Manager, Marketing and Sales – Ford Pro Vehicle Solutions, Ford of Europe.

This continued partnership allows for MS-RT to expand their business and access expertise in their development of future MS-RT vehicles for UK and International markets.

MS-RT is a design-led automotive engineering company that produces low volume, premium edition sport models in the Commercial Vehicle sector. Traditional vehicles like the Ford Transit are redesigned and given a unique edge, unlike any other vehicle on the road.

On their website, MS-RT describe their process of fusing together tough and reliable Ford vehicles in order to give them a unique, sporting edge. Claiming rally stages “run in their veins”, MS-RT proudly boast other projects such as the World Rally Championship, Global Rallycross and GT3 Racing.

“We are delighted to be building on our partnership with Ford by opening a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Ford Dagenham,” said Edward Davies, MS-RT’s founder and director. “The new site will drive innovation, expand our manufacturing capability, and further strengthen our collaboration with Ford.”

The new facility will be placed in an existing building at the factory in Dagenham which was used last year to build medical ventilators for the NHS. This was part of Fords involvement in the UK Ventilator Challenge which saw them provide 750 people to assist through project management and assembly skills.
