Singapore’s Pavilion Energy appoints Alan Heng as interim CEO

Singapore’s Pavilion Energy on Wednesday said that its group chief executive, Frederic Barnaud, is stepping down and will be replaced on an interim basis by Alan Heng from Aug. 26.

Barnaud, who joined Pavilion as CEO from Gazprom Marketing and Trading in early 2018, is returning to Europe to be with family, the company said.

“We will embark on a process to identify a suitable candidate from both internal and external sources,” a Pavilion spokesperson said.

Heng, previously at ExxonMobil, joined Pavilion in 2013 and has been key in developing the company’s activities in Singapore, Pavilion added.

Pavilion Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore’s state investor Temasek Holdings.

Under Barnaud’s leadership Pavilion has expanded beyond Asia after buying the liquefied natural gas (LNG) portfolio of Spain’s Iberdrola, gaining access to European regasification terminals as well as Atlantic supplies.

The company also imported Singapore’s first carbon-neutral LNG this year.
