The German postal service want her StreetScooterMaking electric vehicles more customer-friendly and cooperating with the BMW subsidiary Alphabet. These take care of leasing as well as workshop and tire service.
The post office, which uses its street scooter not only for parcel delivery, but also sold to other companies, has signed a cooperation agreement with BMW’s alphabet fleet management. So corporate customers should get more support when they use the electric delivery truck.
In addition to classic finance leasing, Alphabet also provides services such as workshop and tire service or claims management. In the Netherlands, the local alphabet subsidiary has been distributing the street scooter to commercial customers for half a year. How successful that is, the companies have not shared so far.
The Work type transporter has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 20 kilowatt hours. The battery is charged via a standard 230-volt outlet with a maximum of 16 amps. A full charge lasts up to seven hours, while the first 80 percent are charged after 4.5 hours. The range of the motor with a continuous output of 38 kilowatts is 80 km, which depends on load, topography, traffic and driving behavior. With a usable volume of 4.3 cubic meters, 710 kg can be added.
All street scooter models, including the Work S (E-bike) and the Work M (E-tricycle), are free to sell. In April 2017, the company announced that at least half of the production of the year for external interested parties such as municipalities or large fleet customers in Germany and Europe thought.
The previous street scooter delivery vans are quite small. That’s why Deutsche Post introduced in August 2017 Work XL based on the Ford Transits in front. This is a larger delivery van with a loading volume of 20 cubic meters.
