Ki Mobility Solutions, the full stack O-to-O digital platform of myTVS is entering the electric vehicle service space in the country. The company has launched a digital mobility service platform for EVs. The platform will serve as a one-stop shop for all service requirements for EV owners where they can access high-quality services, parts, accessories, tyres, batteries, insurance and 24×7 on-demand roadside assistance across India. myTVS’ pan India network will help EV manufacturers to jump-start their operations country-wide.
So far, they have partnered with eight players across segments which include Okinawa and Boom Motors. Ki Mobility Solutions has also joined hands with other new age EV manufacturing start-ups and leading OEMs across two-wheelers, three-wheelers, LCVs and passenger cars. The digital platform provides the manufacturers with a wide service network across 250 plus towns for sales, service, insurance, roadside assistance, charging stations and parts.
The range of solutions include customer service @Home, emergency breakdown cum battery assistance, customer vehicle delivery@Home for superior purchase experience, parts delivery@Home, connected service through cloud-based diagnostics, insurance and cashless collision support, mobility charging stations (where and when needed) and infrastructure to house charging stations. They already have 1000 service network outlets across the country. By March 2022 the company hopes to have a network of 2500 outlets.
Speaking about the new EV platform, G Srinivasa Raghavan, Managing Director, Ki Mobility Solutions said, “This platform provides a portfolio of solutions that would help electric vehicle manufacturers provide complete customer centricity that they desire to provide for their customers. Further, Ki Mobility’s cloud-based service network would support the accelerated roll-out plans along with service promises to the electric vehicle manufacturers.”
During the previous interaction with Autocar Professional, the MD mentioned that the Ki Mobility platform can easily support e-mobility as a result of the connected telematics features. “Any electric two-wheeler and passenger car player can find Ki mobility as an ideal platform to extend service. We can deliver batteries, charging solutions and repair. We have started working with two of them and the response has been great so far.”
Dusk to Dawn
The company also announced a new servicing model of Dusk to Dawn, where they service vehicles at night, with the vehicle delivered to the customer early in the morning. The MD added that, “The Covid effect at most places does not allow us to work at night now. We are still waiting for the regulations to ease and are working till 10-11 pm now. If we transcribe it to service @Home, it has seen significant traction. Today 40% of our service is already moved to @Home.
When we combine Dusk to Dawn and service @Home it would be terrific. EVs will be mostly at home, so far from what we have seen. It will follow at home service. We see very little of collision or panel work that comes to service stations. At this point we believe most of the work will happen at home.”
Skilling the mechanics
Servicing electric vehicles requires specialised skills as compared to ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles. Realising that technicians servicing EVs have to be trained in different battery operations technology and different power transmission concepts, Ki Mobility Solutions has adequately invested in training around 500 technicians PAN India to service all types of electric vehicles ensuring the highest quality standards.
