JP Morgan Global Alternatives has acquired a 50% interest in a Singapore office space while 108 Media has acquired all the assets of the London-based DCD Media Plc worth $6.3 million.
JP Morgan Global Alternatives buys 50% in One George Street for $472m
JP Morgan Global Alternatives has acquired a 50% interest in One George Street, a Grade A office asset in Singapore, the company said in a statement on Monday.
The 23-floor Grade A office tower is strategically located in the central business district with access to multiple transport links. It has a green building certification and an occupancy rate of 97% as of September 30.
JP Morgan Global Alternatives chief investment officer and head of real estate Asia Pacific David Chen said the company plans to “capitalise on a cyclical upswing” in the office demand from technology and financial service sectors amid a moderate level of new supply, banking on Singapore’s attractiveness as an investment destination.
JP Morgan Global Alternatives is the alternative investment arm of JP Morgan Asset Management with $201 billion in assets under management.
Global production studio 108 Media acquires all DCD Media’s assets
Global financing and production studio 108 Media has acquired all assets of the independent TV distribution and production group DCD Media Plc for $6.3 million in the first of several major corporate acquisitions being negotiated for the next 18 months, the company said in a statement on Monday.
The deal covers DCD Media Plc assets including September Films, RIZE USA and DCD Rights, which have a catalogue of more than 3,500 hours of programming across drama, entertainment, factual, and music.
Following the transaction, DCD Rights will continue to operate as an independent distribution company. The acquisition will add further experience, cultural diversity and talent to 108 Media’s global teams in London, Singapore, Tokyo, Toronto, Los Angeles, Kuala Lumpur and Manila.
108 Media has over 35 IPs with recent forays include original content production deals with teams from Viacom, Discovery, Sony, Netflix, as well as regional and local players like Mediacorp, iQiyi, AXN, and Media Prima in Asia.
