B Capital Group appoints Sandi Sadek as partner and chief people officer while Google Cloud appoints Cherie Ng as Singapore and Malaysia country director.

Sandi Sadek is B Capital’s new partner and chief people officer

B Capital Group has appointed Sandi Sadek as partner and chief people officer, according to a company statement. Sadek is based in Singapore.

As chief people officer, Sadek will drive internal people development initiatives for B Capital’s more than 130 global employees. She will also advise B Capital’s more than 120 portfolio companies on leadership and talent initiatives.

“In just over six short years we have grown into a multi-stage global investment firm that places a strong emphasis on people development. Sandi will play a key role in reimagining and strengthening our key people initiatives, both for B Capital and for our portfolio companies,” said B Capital Chief Operating Officer Ted Hill.

Our culture has always been a strength, and since the pandemic started our people team has done a remarkable job of maintaining and even strengthening that culture in the face of many new challenges. As we enter a new phase of growth and development, I’m excited to bring Sandi on full time to the company and I know her leadership will have a tremendous impact,” Hill continued.

Prior to joining B Capital, Sadek was the co-founder of floweraddict.com, an online florist based in Singapore. She had also previously spent nearly three years as Credit Suisse’s managing director for human resources, 12 years as Bank of America Merill Lynch’s head of human resources, and five years as Mercer’s regional office head.

Google Cloud names Cherie Ng as SG, MY country director

Google has appointed Cherie Ng as the country director for its Google Cloud business in Singapore and Malaysia.

According to Ng’s LinkedIn profile, she will be responsible for leading revenue and go-to-market strategy for operations at Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace.

Prior to this, Ng was at Microsoft where she was general manager for the public sector for the Asia Pacific region. During her time there, she spearheaded business engagements and partnerships with public sector institutions — government agencies, state-owned enterprises, healthcare, and educational institutions.

Her other management roles include stints at NICE, Invensys Operations Management, Singtel, Comverse Technologies, CSG Systems, and Lucent Technologies.
