Wrong-way driver test project on I-75 is first of its kind in Michigan

The Wrong Way Driver Detection and Alert system created by Continental at Interstate-75 at Joslyn road exit in Auburn Hills on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021.

It happened again. And again.

Two days after Thanksgiving, the Michigan State Police Metro Detroit team notified the public on Twitter that witnesses had called in to 911 to report a wrong-way driver racing 100 mph on I-75.

“Troopers began to check the area and were able to find the vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes of I75,” said one of a series of tweets on the incident from @mspmetrodet to its 23,900 followers.
