Developed in collaboration with the Chinese company Geely, the compact SUV is the first Volvo model built on the basis of the Cma (Compact Modular Architecture) modular architecture used for all 40 Series cars. In terms of technology, the XC40 inherits the safety systems, connectivity and infotainment of the 90 and 60 Series cars, including Pilot Assist, City Safety, Run-off Road Protection & Mitigation systems to protect occupants in the event of lane exits and Cross Traffic Alert with brake assistance. The XC40 also offers an innovative approach to occupant comfort, thanks to numerous storage and cargo space solutions. Born with petrol and diesel engines, but conceived from the project to house the technical elements related to electrification, the range was later expanded with mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric versions. In detail, the Volvo XC40 P8 Recharge Pure Electric Awd R-Design is 443 cm long, 186 cm wide, 166 cm high with a trunk from 413 to 1,289 liters. In the P8 Recharge Pure Electric Awd R-Design version it costs 59,600 euros with an electric motor capable of delivering a maximum power of 300 kW / 408 horsepower and a maximum torque of 660 Nm. The traction is permanent integral. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes place in 4.9 seconds. The maximum speed that can be reached is 180 km / h. The curb mass with driver and luggage (EU standards) is 2,220 kg.
