Porsche has high hopes for the artificially produced gasoline. There are currently around 1.3 billion vehicles with internal combustion engines in the world, says Barbara Frenkel, head of purchasing at the sports car manufacturer: “It will be many years before this fleet is replaced by electric cars. With synthetic fuels, the CO2 emissions of the vehicle fleet are reduced immediately. ”In the future, historic cars, existing vehicles, but also further developed combustion models, could be operated almost CO2-neutrally.
E-fuels as the savior of the combustion engine? More like a questionable bet on a controversial technology. So far, Porsche is the only well-known car manufacturer that wants to keep combustion technology on the market with this technology.
