Guangxi automaker inks deal with Japanese startup

Guangxi Auto signed an agreement with Japanese electric car startup ASF Co on Thursday to jointly develop pure electric logistics vehicles. The deal was made at the RCEP Business Leaders Forum in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

By December, 100,000 vehicles, to be produced in Liuzhou, Guangxi, by Guangxi Auto, will be sold in Japan. Research and development will be financed by ASF.

The agreement marked the first time complete new energy vehicles from Guangxi will enter the Japanese market after the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership took effect on Saturday.
