Good news for Renault’s “Electricity cluster” in northern France. According to our information, Nissan, the Losange’s partner in the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, should entrust Renault with the production of the car that will succeed its little Micra in Europe. The Japanese manufacturer will use for this the platform developed by Renault for its future electric R5, which must be produced in its Douai plant from 2024.
Assembly today at Renault in Flins (36,000 units in 2020), the current Micra does not come from a common technical platform with the Losange. It is totally different from the electric Clios and ZOEs that have been produced on the Flins assembly lines in recent years.
