The car manufacturer BMW calls almost a million cars into the workshops in North America. Up to 917,106 cars are affected by the measure, as the US traffic safety agency NHTSA announced on Wednesday. The reason is that a valve could overheat as a result of a short circuit, which is why there is a risk of fire.
BMW had already ordered many cars back to the workshops because of the problem, but these and others now have to be repaired again. The recall affects some important Munich models such as the 3 and 5 series or the X3 and X5 SUV models from different model years from 2006 to 2013.
