The e-car manufacturer Tesla has a new update in progress that should fix some critical bugs.
Recently there were serious problems with the autopilot again FSD package, which erroneously stands for Full Self-Driving. The fact that Tesla uses the term has the lobby group prompted to change the name. If the update is found to be good, it will draw more circles. So far it is only for the employees of the company.
The new beta version (because only internally tested) allows the car to reach the destination by itself. However, this needs to be monitored because the system cannot yet manage all traffic conditions. New in the Tesla FSD-Beta 10.11 version is the vector space lane setting, so that an improved and less error-prone modeling can result. In this way one wants to better predict the traffic situation.
Furthermore, an improved understanding of right of way was drilled into the system. This is necessary if the map or the navigation can no longer follow in this regard. The map-based heuristic is no longer used. The training of the AI showed an accuracy in the recognition of pedestrians and cyclists. In addition, the speeds of two-wheelers, wheelchairs and pedestrians are estimated better.
Other improvements include: dynamic distance prediction, parked vehicle detection, better performance in difficult scenarios, open car door detection and improved data transmission.
