Wejo has launched Wejo RTTI, a Real-Time Traffic Intelligence solution capable of providing insights through an up-to-date, holistic, view of traffic conditions and road safety incidents.
Leveraging aggregated data derived from millions of connected vehicles, the solution has been designed for use by public agencies, civil engineering firms, mapping & navigation providers, and logistics companies. Through these insights, Wejo expects these organizations to enhance road safety and congestion in communities using real-time traffic data.
Among the features offered in Wejo RTTI are ultra-low latency, highly granular traffic updates, accurate traffic events, as well as real-time speeds and travel-times for roads. This enables users to quickly detect changing traffic conditions while identifying and locating road closures, congestion, and unexpected slowdown situations.
Wejo has confirmed that it will be available to developers and mobility service providers seeking to integrate real-time traffic into their solutions through APIs. Some of its key use cases include assisting car and ride-sharing applications, logistics companies, and other companies in the gig-economy to optimize estimated arrival times. It also enables the ability to implement dynamic pricing for congestion charging on routes, at tolls, and in parking structures.
The solution’s visibility into real-time traffic data allows users to recommend safety improvements to road networks, identify urban traffic congestion patterns as they happen, and make decisions based on accurate real-time intelligent aggregated data. Users can assess different approaches for future planning and make immediate changes.
Likewise, the real-time functionality of Wejo RTTI allows allows users to quickly understand and respond to road traffic and safety conditions by understanding the present situation on the road. Wejo says that this reduces the time, cost, and effort associated with data collection methods used to understand pre or post-development analysis. Here, Wejo RTTI allows users to analyze insights on-demand with key insights into what happened before, during, and after each incident.
