Las automatriculaciones representaron el 11,4% del mercado total en marzo rozando las 7.000 unidades

Tactical registrations in Spain reached a volume of 6,858 units in the third month of the year.

The microchip crisis continues to have significant effects on the automotive industry and dealerships. One more example of this is that it has affected the self-registration made in the last month. As reported by Europa Press, this type of operation represented 11.4% of the market in March, close to 7,000 units.

In this way, the self-registrations carried out in March 2022 were below 7,000 units. Specifically, 6,858 operations were recorded in Spain. The previous figure translates into a decrease of 29.34% in comparison with the previous year, when they reached 8,870 units.

Within the bag of tactical registrations, ‘zero kilometer’ operations are included, in addition to models destined for export, self-registrations and brand fleets for internal use.

And why have they decreased in importance? This reduction is explained by the lack of stock of new vehicles in the Spanish market, due to the semiconductor crisis. This situation has led to the few vehicles available being used for the most profitable channels in the market, such as the private sector, and for this type of operation to be significantly reduced.

The brands that have self-enrolled the most

According to MSI, Fiat was the brand that accounted for the largest volume of this type of operation. It self-registered a total of 805 units, which represents 11.74% of its total registrations. In addition, it is a figure 185.46% higher than that of a year before.

The second place was occupied by Peugeot, with a data of tactical registrations of 672 units. It is granted a decrease of 42.32% in the year-on-year comparison and represents 9.8% of its total sales.

The third brand with the most operations of this type in the third month of the year was Citroën. 620 operations, which represents a decrease of 55.04%; this volume represented 9.04% of its registrations.
