“In the year of the centenary of the foundation of our Club, which since the origins of this exciting sport has organized the first competitions that became the legend of motoring, (such as the Grand Prix of Rome, the Vermicino-Rocca di Papa and the Frascati -Tuscle), – continued the President – I am honored to confer on Emanuele Pirro the role of “Ambassador of the Rome Automobile Club. The great successes obtained as a driver and the prestigious roles held in the International Federation designate him by right as the best candidate to represent the values of sport in the world, which has always been supported by the Rome Automobile Club “.

“Motoring has always had a great fascination for Italians and Romans – said Alessandro Onorato, Councilor for Major Events, Sport and Tourism of the Municipality of Rome. Many follow it as enthusiasts, many dream of practicing it. This is why the initiative that the Automobile Club of Rome is carrying out, on the occasion of the centenary of the Club, is important. A way to finally give space and opportunities to young talents who would otherwise risk remaining in the shadows. As an administration, we have already promoted highly successful events such as the Rome E-Prix and the Rally Roma. We can only encourage initiatives of this kind, which are in line with our desire to offer the possibility to anyone who wishes to approach this exciting sport and represent a prestigious showcase for Roman tourism. My congratulations to Emanuele Pirro who, thanks to his prestigious career, I am sure will be able to best interpret the role of ambassador of motor sport ”.
