Israel invests in autonomous driving test project

The State of Israel is taking on a large sum of money to promote autonomous driving.

Subsidized at $6.25 million Israel autonomous driving to provide proof of the feasibility that the technology can also be used in local public transport.

The first step is to make suggestions for use autonomous buses to be collected. The companies should carry out some projects by means of financial contributions in order to prove the feasibility. After successful completion, licenses to operate the vehicles are distributed. This means that the autonomous vehicles can drive on public roads and transport people.

The mapping is also carried out for the implementation, so that the automation of the public transport should take place within a few years. Israel is considered a hotspot for development, because the start-up scene there in particular has driven some developments in autonomous driving.
