New Delhi: ABB E-mobility, and Shell have announced their collaboration to bring flexible and quality charging solutions to millions of electric vehicle drivers the world over. ABB has signed a new global framework agreement with Shell to supply its end-to-end portfolio of AC and DC charging stations. The portfolio ranges from the AC wall box for home, work, or retail installations to the Terra 360 for refuelling stations, urban charging stations, retail parking, and fleet applications, a media release said.
According to a joint company statement, with this collaboration, ABB E-mobility and Shell will help address two of the challenges in increasing EV adoption: charging infrastructure and speed of charging. For making adequate charging infrastructure, Shell is targeting the operation of over 500,000 charge points globally by 2025 and 2,500,000 by 2030 at residential, commercial and Shell retail sites. The speed of charging will be addressed with ABB’s portfolio of charging stations including its Terra 360 charger.
Frank Muehlon, CEO, ABB E-mobility, said, “We have been working together on the roll-out of public charging infrastructure since 2019 and this latest agreement takes that collaboration to the next level. We are excited to support Shell in realizing its objective to create a global charging network. With access to the full breadth of our charging portfolio, we are ensuring that Shell can select the most appropriate solution for every use case, helping to get more people charging regardless of their location.”
