Fleet charging specialist AMPLY Power will support the deployment of two Volvo VNR Electric Trucks operated by Producers Dairy in Fresno. AMPLY managed the design and installation of charging infrastructure at the company’s processing facility, which includes two 150 kW DC fast chargers. AMPLY will also provide ongoing managed charging services through its OMEGA platform.
The project builds on an existing collaboration between AMPLY and Volvo Trucks North America to support the deployment of battery-electric Class 8 heavy-duty trucks.
AMPLY’s Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS) model is designed to help fleet operators deal with the challenges of deploying EVs, including power price volatility and charging mixed fleets. AMPLY handles everything from charger installation to optimizing charging windows to providing maintenance, leaving fleet operators to focus on their core businesses.
“As we improve sustainability across our operations, we are looking for the most efficient, cost-effective solutions,” said Scott Shehadey, President of Producers Dairy. “AMPLY Power’s holistic approach to charging infrastructure and management will help us for years to come as we continue to scale our EV fleet.”
“When fleet operators make the switch to battery-electric trucks, having access to cost-effective and reliable charging is critical so that vehicles can be charged and ready for each shift,” said Peter Voorhoeve, President, Volvo Trucks North America. “The infrastructure support and charge management that AMPLY provides helps ensure this is possible.”
