Renault, overtaken by Tesla? If the tricolor manufacturer sold almost three times more cars last year than the electric car champion, the comparison of turnover is much less flattering for the firm at Diamond. Not to mention the difference in profitability or market capitalization, indicators on which Tesla now crushes all traditional manufacturers.
In 2021, Renault thus generated 46.2 billion euros in revenue, barely more than Tesla (45.5 billion). However, it has sold 2.7 million vehicles, against “only” 936,000 for the American firm.
