@BMW: BMW Customer Racing Teams Enjoy a Big Weekend in the Big Easy; Next Generation BMW M4 GT4 to Debut at VIR.002003

Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – May 23, 2022 . . . BMW Customer Racing teams entered a total of 21 BMW racing cars in Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2022 SRO Americas Championship at New Orleans Motorsport Park (NOLA), in Avondale, Louisiana on March 21 – 22, sharing a total of 13 podium finishes, including 3 victories, among the ten teams representing The Ultimate Driving Machine®. The weekend in the “Big Easy” was the first visit for the SRO Americas Championship to NOLA, a replacement venue for previously scheduled Ozarks International Raceway, in Gravois Mills, MO. “The NOLA weekend was another good one for BMW Customer Racing teams,” said Dan Lubin, BMW NA Motorsport Manager. “Congratulations to all the BMW winners and podium finishers. Looking ahead, we are pleased to announce that BMW will introduce the next generation BMW M4 GT4 to our teams at VIR. The car will be displayed over the weekend with a full technical briefing planned.”  In the TCX class, a showcase for the BMW M2 CS (Cup), it was Colin Garrett taking the Race 3 win in the No. 44 Rooster Hall Racing machine, followed closely by Jacob Rudd in the No. 1 Fast Track Racing car. On Sunday, Race 4 saw the positions switched as Rudd took the win, followed by Garrett. Lucas Catania, driving the No. 26 Rigid Speed BMW M2 CS (Cup) finished third in both races. BimmerWorld Racing enjoyed a four-podium weekend. On Saturday, James Clay and Charlie Postins posted a Race 3 GT4 Am class win in the No. 36 BMW M4 GT4. Teammates Devin Jones and James Walker, Jr. scored a third-place Race 4 Pro/Am class finish in the No. 82 BMW M4 GT4.
