99 will have patrol vehicles for support during races

A new feature unique to patrol vehicles is protecting rides from the 99 mobility app. The service, called Patrol 99, sends out specialist teams who, on motorcycles or cars, provide face-to-face support to partner drivers and passengers in case of a safety emergency during platform travel. The functionality is already in operation in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and is being implemented in other cities in the country. The company is the first to offer a resource with these characteristics in the country.

The service can be activated if a risk or emergency situation is identified during a platform run, such as, for example, deviation from the route, long stops or journey with longer than expected time. At that moment, the company’s Security Center calls the police and shares the trip information with them. At the same time, a vehicle from Patrol 99 goes to the place where the car is to provide all the necessary support.

Upon arriving at the scene of the occurrence, service is provided to users – always with the proper support of the police. If necessary, other emergency services are notified. On activation, GPS is used to activate the unit that is closest to the incident location.

“Patrulha 99 seeks to ensure that our users are properly assisted in case they face an emergency, in addition to optimizing the articulation with emergency services and collaboration with the authorities, if necessary”, says Tatiana Scatena, Director of Security at 99.

How 99 identifies risk situations

The 99 counts, in all races, with Real Time Monitoring that, with artificial intelligence, identifies patterns of behavior that may be associated with an incident, such as changing routes, long stops and journeys beyond the expected time.

The company also has security cameras installed in the vehicle that capture images with a “fisheye lens” and night mode and accompany a physical security button, located in a secret position inside the car and can be activated at any time and connecting directly to the Central 99. If any abnormality is identified, the app automatically sends alerts to drivers and passengers that that ride is being monitored, asking if everything is ok and a warning is automatically sent to the Security Center which, if necessary, tries to telephone contact to avoid a possible occurrence.

All users have access to audio recording features, sharing routes with trusted contacts and a button to call the police directly. In case of need, the 99 Security Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
