1982 Ventures, a Singapore-based, early-stage venture capital firm that invests in fintech startups across Southeast Asia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, has announced the close of its maiden fund at $20 million, against its original target of $15 million. It has also received commitments worth $5 million for its Fund II expected to be announced soon, a company statement said.
The firm leads pre-seed and seed rounds with initial investments ranging from $250,000 to $500,000. It expects to make 10-15 new investments in addition to follow-on investments in the Fund I portfolio.
