New Delhi: Auto major Tata Motors on Wednesday reported a growth of 204% for its total domestic sales (passenger vehicles + commercial vehicles) to 74,755 units in May 2022.
The company’s domestic wholesales during May 2021 stood at 24,552 units.
Total domestic passenger vehicle sales for the company were up 185% in May 2022 to 43,341 units. The company recorded 15,181 unit sales in May 2021.
ICE passenger vehicles sales for May recorded 171% growth to 39,887 units and EV passenger vehicle sales were up 626% to 3,454 units.
Total domestic commercial vehicle sales in May 2022 grew 235% to 31,414 units as against 9,371 units recorded in May 2021.
Total commercial vehicle sales (including exports) for Tata Motors was also up 188% to 32,818 units. The company recorded 11,401 unit CV sales in the same month of last year.
Total vehicle sales for the company (domestic + exports) for May 2022 stood at 76,210 vehicles, compared to 26,661 units during May 2021.

The company said that its Slavia and Kushaq models contributed to the growth in sales numbers.
This growth demonstrates improvement in chip availability, and the carmaker hopes the situation would improve further in the subsequent months, the company said.
