Credit Suisse has named Min Huang to lead its asset management business in the Asia-Pacific while M&G Investments (M&G) has appointed Guan Yi Low as head of fixed income in the Asia-Pacific. Capital Group has appointed Suyin Tan as managing director, financial intermediaries, for Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Huang named Credit Suisse asset management lead for APAC

Credit Suisse has named Min Huang to lead its asset management business in the Asia-Pacific, per a Reuters report.

The appointment comes seven months after Huang was named the bank’s interim head for APAC asset management in November.

Joining Credit Suisse in 2006, Huang took many leadership positions at the bank. She served as the Swiss bank’s head of asset management for China, tasked with developing the bank’s onshore presence.

In this role, Huang will continue to report to Credit Suisse Asset Management CEO Ulrich Körner.

Low to be M&G Investments APAC fixed income head

M&G Investments (M&G), the global asset management arm of M&G Plc, has appointed Guan Yi Low as head of fixed income in the Asia-Pacific as part of efforts to build a fixed-income investment team in the region.

In this role, Guan Yi, who will join on July 25 from Eastspring Investments where she was head of fixed income, will be responsible for developing M&G’s capabilities by expanding the team and, over time, launch new strategies for its clients.

The new investment team will be based in Singapore, and Guan Yi, who has over 20 years of experience in the Asian fixed income markets, will jointly report to Jim Leaviss, chief investment officer of M&G’s public fixed income division, and Loretta Ng, head of Asia-Pacific.

Yi previously served as assistant vice-president at Bank Pictet & Cie Asia. She was also associate director at Fullerton Fund Management, a subsidiary of Temasek Holdings. She started her career at Standard Chartered Bank as a portfolio manager and risk analyst.

Since 2019, M&G has been expanding its investment and distribution capabilities based in the Asia-Pacific under the leadership of Loretta Ng.

Tan appointed Capital Group’s MD-financial intermediaries

Capital Group has appointed Suyin Tan as managing director, financial intermediaries, for Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Based in Singapore, Tan will lead the financial intermediaries sales team in Singapore and Southeast Asia, drive its distribution strategy and strengthen existing relationships with Capital Group’s financial intermediary clients in the region. She reports to Jeik Sohn, head of client group, Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Tan brings a wealth of experience in asset management and distribution sales, most recently as an executive director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Prior to her nine-year venture at Goldman Sachs, she spent 13 years at Henderson Global Investors serving as a director based in Singapore, where she spearheaded and implemented their retail distribution strategy.

Capital Group is one of the largest and most experienced investment companies in the world, with assets under management of over $2.7 trillion as of Dec 31 2021.
