Energy management and automation specialist Schneider Electric has launched a new EV charging solution designed to make buildings smarter and more sustainable while adding EV charging infrastructure.
EcoStruxure for eMobility is an end-to-end connected solution that’s designed to help manage a building’s power usage to ensure efficiency and reliability. It includes three main elements:
- EVlink Pro AC, a connected charger
- EcoStruxure EV Charging Expert, an on-site load management system that dynamically distributes available power in the building to charge EVs, avoiding peak hours and integrating renewable energy
- EcoStruxure EV Advisor, a cloud-based operations software package that will be launched “later in the year”
“As EVs take hold of the car market, buildings will take on a larger share of the burden,” said Mike Doucleff, Head of Schneider’s eMobility Business. “When EVs become the dominant mode of transportation, people won’t be stopping to charge—they’ll charge where they stop. We will charge at home and also at destinations like offices, shops, restaurants, parking garages, schools, hospitals, movie theaters, etc.”
