Ninja Van expands to new markets

Ninja Van Group, Southeast Asia’s tech-enabled logistics company, has enhanced its supply-chain management solutions by expanding to new markets and making more services available to SMEs across the region.

These enhancements are part of the $100 million that Ninja Van has committed to investing in its logistics business and developing the accompanying eco-system of supply-chain management products and services, according to an announcement.

Initially launched in Thailand in January, the company’s end-to-end procurement solution, Ninja Direct, is now available to SMEs in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Ninja Van has also introduced several new services in the last two years, including Ninja Financial Services, Ninja Fulfilment and Ninja Mart.

Ninja Van is a tech-enabled express logistics company providing hassle-free delivery solutions for businesses of all sizes across Southeast Asia. Launched in 2014, Ninja Van started operations in Singapore and has become the region’s fastest-growing last-mile logistics company, powering businesses with innovative logistics solutions.

Last year, Ninja Van raised $578 million in a Series E round at a valuation of $1.85 billion.

SG’s ComfortDelGro partners with Alipay+

Singaporean taxi operator ComfortDelGro has partnered with Alipay+, enabling tourists from Malaysia and South Korea to use their mobile wallet apps Touch ‘n Go eWallet and Kakao Pay to pay for cab fares in Singapore.

“With Singapore reopening its borders, we are looking forward to welcoming tourists. As such, our partnership with Alipay+ is a vital one as it allows cashless payment options such as Malaysia’s Touch ‘n Go eWallet, and soon South Korea’s Kakao Pay, available on board ComfortDelGro taxis, making it more convenient for both Malaysian and South Korean tourists to pay for taxi fares. This saves them the hassle of carrying cash in local currency,” said ComfortDelGro Taxi CEO Jackson Chia.

ComfortDelGro Taxi is Singapore’s largest taxi operator with a combined fleet of about 9,000 Comfort and CityCab taxis. Apart from cash payment, all ComfortDelGro Taxis currently support about 20 different cashless payment methods.

Introduced by Ant Group in 2020, Alipay+ is a suite of global cross-border digital payments and marketing solutions designed to enable businesses, especially SMEs, to process a wide range of mobile payment methods.
