Nadiya, a 32-year-old executive at a tech firm in Jakarta has been investing in crypto assets since 2021, with an eye on “long-term returns”.
Earlier this week, when the value of bitcoin dived to its lowest level since December 2020, she lost nine-digit figures (in rupiah). While Nadiya was disappointed by the loss, being a long-term investor, she says she’ll invest again in the future. “My confidence [in crypto] is dropping right now, but I’ll keep observing the market and will likely invest again if the situation improves.”
