Amazon: Autonomous warehouse robots

The Internet department store Amazon has developed new robots.

To further automate the business, Amazon has developed a robot that organizes the warehouse. For ten years, Amazon has been working on new robots with its enormous financial strength, what with the takeover of Kiva Systems started. This increased efficiency and last but not least caused costs to tumble.

Presented at a performance Amazon two new robots: Proteus and Cardinal. The Bot Cardinal sorts heavy packages during the shipping process. The other bot, Proteus, is cleaning up the camp. Proteus is autonomous and can avoid humans, giving him more freedom. The robot rolls under the objects to be moved, lifts them up and navigates to the target. When the battery is low, the bot drives to charge.

This development will affect the entire industry, which will force Amazon to use more and more automation.
