The Swedish company Einride has received approval to operate the electric truck in the USA.
Einride was founded in 2016 and is developing an electrically powered truckthat can drive autonomously. The vehicles are called Pods and have been operating in Sweden since 2019. Last year the company announced that it would be involved in the USA.
We’ve had that since last March remote control concept has been developing and training staff to become teleoperators in Texas out. In the event of breakdowns, they should be able to steer the autonomous trucks out of trouble. Last week, the company received approval to operate in the US from the NHTSA receive.
Now Einride wants to send the pods into piloted use. Thanks to the remote control, nobody is sitting in the vehicle itself. The pilot is supposed to check the commercialization, which is planned from autumn.
