Stuttgart. This year, the Mercedes-Benz Museum’s popular Children’s and Family Day will once again offer a colourful and varied programme. The event, involving a whole range of free activities, will take place on Sunday, 10 July 2022 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The different stations, especially in the outdoor area of the Museum as well as on Level 1 and across the CAMPUS, will be devoted to fun, games and excitement:
- Research Factory Schorndorf: Experimenting, researching, discovering – the Science Center stand for children offers exciting hands-on activities such as the opportunity to tinker and create the perfect electrical circuit, build a Morse code transmitter or program small beetle robots. There’s also a tricky team game that enables visitors to find out how well they work as a group. Out and about on the grounds: Gottlieb and Emma, the mascots of the Research Factory.
- Palaces and gardens in Baden-Württemberg: Three important buildings in the federal state introduce themselves. Ludwigsburg Palace – with royal costumes and a throne where children can slip into the roles of queen and king.
- Genius: In the “Genius Challenge”, visitors are invited to build a racing car – in a sustainable and resource-saving way. Then it’s off to the race tube with the car. Who is the fastest?
- Tripsdrill Adventure Park: “Tripsdrill on tour” invites everyone to join in the fun. A frisbee wall is a test of dexterity, while there are also prizes to be won.
- Aventerra e.V.: Experience that racing feeling right up close, and design a racing car that can then be tested on the race track – courtesy of the non-profit association for children’s and youth camps, study trips and outdoor education. A racing team always consists of children with their parents.
- SG Stern e.V.: The company’s own sports club will also be on site, with such activities as a football wall and football with bubble balls, sim racing, table football and mini table tennis.
- VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V.: Fritzle, the VfB mascot, will visit the Children’s and Family Day, and be available for photos and autographs. The penalty wall is all about accurate kicking. Guides will be offering tours of the Mercedes-Benz Arena starting at several different times.
- Jumping zone: Jumping to a height of up to eight metres on the bungee trampoline with rubber safety ropes, the circle jump with fitness jumps over a rotating, padded beam, and the ninja course all demand skill and athleticism.
- Märklin & Cie. GmbH: Model trains from the Göppingen-based Swabian toy manufacturer are sure to attract all generations. The “Märklineum” takes visitors on a journey through 160 years of the company’s development. And of course, model railways can be built and operated at the stand.
- Pop music channel Antenne 1: Fun, games and action – the radio station will be present with an exercise course for brave acrobats, a painting corner and a bouncy castle.
- Radio Teddy: The children’s and family radio is on site with a colourful play and craft programme as well as a “radio to touch“.
- New York City Dance School: As a committed dance ambassador, NYCDS Stuttgart has been inspiring adults, teens and children to enjoy dance, movement and rhythm for over 45 years. Six different ensembles will perform in the atrium on the Children’s and Family Day.
- DAK-Gesundheit: The health insurance company offers exciting activities on the subject of nutrition – including vitamin cocktails in a chilled lounge.
- Neckar Käpt’n: Neckarschifffahrt Stuttgart invites children and their families to paint, dance and sing.
From Schlossplatz to the Museum and back there is a free shuttle with a historic bus.
