  • Michelin, through its Foundation, commits a total donation of 1Million € for the next two years to support the objective of the Global Plan in reducing by at least 50% the number of road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030.
  • The UNRSF forms part of Michelin’s Global Strategic Partners, and this partnership is a way to honor the Global Plan.

In the context of the UN High-level Meeting on Global Road Safety in New York on June 30, Michelin was delighted to announce the renewal of its support to the UNRSF to promote safer roads and sustainable mobility across the world.

In this occasion, Michelin, through the Michelin Corporate Foundation renewed its commitment with the donation of 1Million € for the next two years aiming at helping lower- and middle-income countries that need road safety improvements.

Michelin supports the objective of the Global Plan, which is to reduce at least 50% of road accidents and injuries by 2030. By developing a Global Strategy Partnership, with UN entities such as UNRSF, some international NGOs and Private sector Partners, Michelin makes a change to improve Safe Mobility in the world.

Because Safe Mobility needs to be considered as a human right, Michelin encourages private partners to take part in the advocacy for a better way forward.

Florent Menegaux, CEO Michelin said, “At Michelin, we believe that our engagement for a safe mobility can save lives on the road. This is why we have supported the UNRSF since 2018 to develop road safety projects across many countries. This year it’s my great pleasure to announce that under our Michelin Corporate Foundation, Michelin is renewing its commitment with a total donation of 1M € for the next 2 years to support lower- and middle-income countries in need of road safety improvements.”

Alexis Garcin, President & CEO Michelin North America, Inc. who attended the UNRSF Pledging Event in New York added, “I am extremely proud of Michelin’s engagement in the global challenge of making mobility safer, not only for a few, but really for everyone. It’s important because we all share the road. And we see the collaboration with the UN Global Plan as an opportunity to join forces and promote throughout the world a safer and more sustainable mobility.”
