For this year, the goal is set at a sales volume of 120,000 electrified passenger cars and, by the sixth month, at least 60,000 registrations should have been reached, far from the 38,124 units registered to date.

DECLARATIONS

José López-Tafall, general director of ANFAC, pointed out that “the electrified market is growing, which is a good sign, but still at a very slow pace. The market share is below 10% in an overall market. At this rate of registrations, we are going to be very far from the objective of 120,000 electrified passenger car units this year, which is the first milestone for compliance in 2030 with the European emission reduction objectives. Objectives that, as expected to be approved by the European Commission, with the support of the Spanish Government, will be even more demanding than those already approved in the Climate Change Law and the PNIEC. This makes it more necessary than ever to step on the accelerator of electrification and establish more ambitious measures for this year to increase the pace. Tools such as the recently approved governance table must demonstrate their effectiveness in the short term so that it can really be a powerful lever to promote public recharging infrastructure and the entry of electric vehicles into our country, as well as the adoption of fiscal measures urgent”.
