Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation submits plan to set up 230 EV charging stationsHYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) submitted a proposal to Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd (TS Redco) to set up 230 electric vehicle charging stations across the city.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) gave a proposal seeking another 100 EV charging stations within their limits.

According to GHMC officials, they entered an agreement with the nodal agency TS Redco to set up EV charging stations at 14 different locations in the city on an experimental basis to understand the revenue generated by them.

Some of these places include Indira Park, Gunfoundry, Abids, GHMC sports complex in Nanakramguda, metro station parking in Uppal, Owaisi Hospital, etc. Officials said each location will have high-speed and low speed charging facilities.

These charging centres will be set up accordingly to the feasibility of locations and further the petroleum corporations also install charging stations according to their convenience.

“State government is giving top priority to encourage EV manufacturers to set their units in Telangana,” GHMC siad.
