Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) in Gurgaon have urged the city administration to issue a direction to the housing societies in relation to the installation of EV charging stations.
According to residents, space for the charging stations is becoming an issue and a direction from the administration will reduce the dispute between residents and RWAs.
“We have surveyed the housing societies where RWAs are managing the operations and everyone is facing the same issue. Most of them wants to install it at the visitors parking but residents object to that. A clarity will help as there is a lot of demand for EV charging stations,” said Pradeep Rahi, the residents welfare association president of Ramprastha Society.
Recently, ACME Group, a leading renewable energy company, set up electric vehicle charging stations in Gurugram, at the Close North Apartments in Nirvana Country.
“With the increasing penetration of EV users, it has become important to support the communities with charging stations. This not just offers convenience but also helps the citizens to adopt cleaner means of transport,” said Siddhartha P Saikia, Head of Corporate Relations, ACME.
Many housing societies in Gurgaon are coming forward to have Ev charging stations at the parking lot.
“Many residents were eagerly waiting for the installation of EV chargers; this will bring a lot of convenience for the users. This is a step towards making our environment clean,” said Rajneesh Gupta, President, The Close North RWA.
Many societies that are at the construction stage, are making provision of charging station to avoid any dispute in the future.
“There is no doubt that EV is the future and many buyers, at the time of purchase, specifically ask for it. Due to the demand, developers have to make a provision. However, to do that at a operational society is a big challenge,” said Pradeep Mishra, founder, Homents Pvt Ltd.
