The twenty Volkswagen supervisory board members have a full program for their meeting on Friday. On the agenda are the future positioning of the Cariad software unit and Audi’s desire to enter the Formula 1 racing series. The IPO of the sports car subsidiary Porsche is also being discussed, according to those involved. The sensitive human rights situation in China and the position of the board of directors will also be discussed.
The Supervisory Board will not make any decisions on the individual points. “Rather, it’s a consultative meeting,” said a person familiar with the process. The inspectors want to get information from the board around Herbert Diess about the plans. But it is also about the question of whether Diess is the right driver for the group.
