After crypto firm Vauld suspended all withdrawals, trading, and deposits on its platform early this week, social media was flooded with posts from angry investors blaming influencers, who promoted the Singapore-based firm, for their losses.
Some ‘fin-fluencers’ — the common moniker for financial influencers who share investment advice on social media — have since released statements, apologising to viewers who may have been affected. They also claimed that they, too, had invested money on the platform, which is frozen now.
