Already on taking office in 2015 Diess came from BMW as a man to Wolfsburg, the great ambitions were said and rested on the equally high hopes. As head of the brand VW and member of the board of directors, he was immediately in the middle of power – and somehow always a little the designated successor of Müller.

His personal ambition has often underpinned Diess with clear content concepts. This stands for a new beginning, which could turn out quite radically according to Volkswagen standards – if the workforce feels taken.
