Another fatal accident involving a Tesla has the NHTSA back on the scene.
Late last week, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that a deadly collision between one Tesla and identify a person. This incident happened in California. Now a new incident has become known, in which the NHTSA is also investigating.
In the new Florida incident, a Tesla Model 3 crashed into a parked semi-trailer truck. This is said to have happened on Interstate 75 in the Gainesville area on Wednesday. Both occupants of the Tesla, aged 67 and 66, were killed in the rear-end collision. Whether the autopilot was active has yet to be clarified.
These fatal accidents come at a time when the NHTSA 45 special traffic accidents examined. Teslas are involved in 36 of the 45 cases. Eleven of the incidents are linked to 15 deaths. Also in state reports Tesla attains an inglorious leading role in accidents. In this way, 273 accidents involving Tesla vehicles have become known between July 2021 and May 2022. For comparison: Honda recorded 90 incidents, Subaru 10 and ford 5.
