Powerful appearance

The BMW iX polarizes with its beefy looks.

This car test is a ride against my prejudices – three of them at once. First: SUVs are as big as they are superfluous. In my opinion, apart from the driver’s need for recognition, they don’t fulfill any need that a station wagon or van of the same size couldn’t serve better and in a more environmentally friendly way.
Secondly: since the i3, BMW has lost its real desire for electric drives and prefers to sell customers cars that were actually designed as combustion engines, but are now also sold with electric drives (such as the iX3), or were built on mixed platforms, all of them Unite drive forms other than wood carburetors under one body (like the new 7 Series).
And finally, thirdly, thanks to its own Supercharger network, Tesla is the only electric car manufacturer where charging on the go is not associated with involuntary adventures. In the end it will be two to one for the prejudices. But more on that later.
