India: Investors flock to launch debut vehicles amid funding slowdown

Even as the startup ecosystem in India is currently staring at a funding winter, as many as 14 investors have launched their maiden funds in the country, signaling their belief in the long-term growth story.

According to data available with research firm Venture Intelligence, private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) firms amassed a whopping $1.16 billion for their debut investment vehicles during the first half of this year as they look to fill the funding gap across diverse sectors in the country.
