Sant’Agata Bolognese, 12 April, 2017 – Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, inaugurated the Ayrton Senna exhibition at the Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese.
The event welcomed the participation of Ercole Colombo and Giorgio Terruzzi, curators of the photographic record, and Mauro Forghieri and Daniele Audetto, who attended the test drive in 1993 when Senna drove a McLaren fitted with a Lamborghini engine on the Estoril circuit.
Every race car ever driven by the Brazilian champion is on display, from his debut outing to his tragic accident, heightening the appeal of the “Ayrton Senna. The last night” photography exhibition. The cars on display include the white MP4/8, identical to the one tested at Estoril, along with its engine.
The exhibition is open daily from 12 April to 9 October, including Sundays, from 9.30 am to 7 pm, and runs alongside the Lamborghini Museum’s permanent collection.

More than 320 employees hired for the Urus project
Sant’Agata Bolognese, 13 February 2017 – Automobili Lamborghini is once again confirmed as one of the most attractive employers. For the fourth year in a row, the company has been awarded the prestigious “Top Employer Italia 2017” certification, an honor bestowed annually by the Top Employers Institute on companies with excellent workplace environments and advanced policies for human resource management.
The achievement of high corporate welfare standards runs parallel with a period of intense expansion for the Sant’Agata Bolognese company, which will expand its product range from 2018 with a third model, the Urus SUV. Since the project was launched, Lamborghini has hired more than 320 new employees on permanent contracts, with over 130 joining in 2016. New personnel are concentrated mainly in the areas of production and R&D. The new arrivals brought the total number of employees to 1,415 at the end of 2016. This growth in personnel is on track with the investments planned for the third model, with a further increase in employee numbers still to come.
Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, commented: “Being reconfirmed as a Top Employer is a clear sign that the constant investment in our people is an important tool for our company’s future success. Lamborghini is currently seeing extraordinary growth potential: the new SUV will double our production site and sales volumes. Being able to attract the best talent with the strength of our brand, and investing in their professional development, is a crucial tool in our future ambitions”.
The constant attention given to company employees and their families is reflected in many activities and initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of people both in and outside the workplace.
The attention given to the health of Lamborghini employees is evident in the campaigns to raise awareness on proper nutrition such as the “farm to table” and low-calorie menus in the company restaurant; vaccinations; and free breast health screening for women in collaboration with LILT (Lega Italiana per la Lotta contro i Tumori – Italian Cancer League), a health insurance that provides reimbursements for doctor’s visits, exams and hospitalization in addition to free prevention packages for the entire family. Pregnant employees can also take advantage of a range of benefits, such as maternity packages provided by the health insurance; priority parking at the company; integration of up to 60% of salary during the period of optional maternity leave; and the special maternity and paternity kit provided when the child is born.
Further benefits include free access to sports facilities, numerous employee discounts at childcare facilities, fitness centers, businesses and cultural institutions of the local area, in addition to events organized by the company for employees and their families.
Leveraging professional training is a fundamental and essential element in the development of competencies and professional skills. In 2016 a new system was established for promoting the acquisition of educational qualifications and offering paid leave to employees for this purpose over the course of their working life. Another important training initiative can be seen in the company’s partnerships with schools and universities, such as the MIT in Boston or the Italian Bologna Business School Foundation.
Labor union relations at Lamborghini also make the company a virtuous model inspired by ongoing dialogue, transparency, and collaboration between the company and the union representatives.

Sant’Agata Bolognese/Boston, 18 October 2016 – Automobili Lamborghini has signed an agreement with the MIT-Italy Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The agreement marks the start of a collaboration between these two outstanding entities for the creation of a project that intends to write an important page in the future of super sports cars for the third millennium.
This strategic partnership will enable students and the teaching staff at MIT and Lamborghini engineers to compare notes and work together on mutually interesting, cutting-edge research projects, focusing primarily on new materials in the automotive field, with exchange, collaboration projects and workshops leading to joint research in the chosen fields.
The partnership represents a step into the future for the automotive industry, with the ultimate aim of paving the way for a very ambitious project, namely a super sports car ready for the challenges of the third millennium.

Stefano Domenicali, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini:”We want people to think of us more and more as a trendsetter in the super luxury and sports car segment. MIT has always been a pioneer in innovation and we are proud to have signed this general agreement with such an illustrious institution, which will lead to the study of issues of mutual interest relating to the super sports car for the 3rd millennium”.
Serenella Sferza, Co-director of MIT-Italy Program:”MIT-Italy is a two way bridge linking MIT and Outstanding Names in Italian Industry. It is hard for us to imagine a better partner than Lamborghini, and we are looking forward to the projects that this partnership will help us develop”.
Armando Varricchio, Italian Ambassador to the United States:”The partnership between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology via the MIT-Italy Program and Lamborghini represents a new and important step in sealing the cooperation between Italian industry and American research, confirming the strong and mutual interest linking them and the potential for further growth. Italian technology is confirming its status among the top ranking countries in the world, capable of successfully standing its ground in a competitive market like the United States”.
Michele Scannavini, Chairman of ICE:”Last year, Italian technology in general came first in terms of overall trade with the USA, with a share of 30%. Italy’s huge export capacity resides in the strength of its SMEs and associated clusters, the one at Bologna ranking among the most important ones; agreements like this with Lamborghini are proof of the undisputed excellence of our industries in the field of innovation”.

Worldwide deliveries increase by 11% to 2,327 cars in first half of 2018Europe leading global growth with highest gains in Italy and UKWorldwide deliveries of Super SUV Lamborghini Urus about to startStrong growth path substantiated beyond FY 2018Sant’Agata Bolognese, 13 July 2018 – Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. reports another increase in worldwide deliveries. In the first six months (January 1 to June 30) of the current Fiscal Year 2018 the Italian super sports car maker delivered a total of 2,327 cars to customers around the world. Compared to the same period in the previous year this is an increase of 11%. These figures mark another record and even surpass the full year sales numbers of only five years ago. “Lamborghini continues to be in consistently good shape. Delivering another new all-time high, for the fourth consecutive half year, confirms the sustainability of our brand, product and commercial strategy. The success is all the more remarkable as we master the unprecedented double challenge of creating new models in our super sports car range, while simultaneously ramping up the production of our highly acclaimed Super SUV Urus. This quantum leap in the longstanding history of Lamborghini is only possible due to the passion, dedication and competence of our unrivalled team,” says Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. In July the first customer deliveries of the Lamborghini Urus are to start. Thus, the half-year growth is based mainly on further increased sales of the two super sports car model lines Huracán and Aventador. Boosted by rocketing sales of the Huracán Performante, global sales of the Huracán model line with Coupé, Spyder and racecar versions showed an increase from 1,400 to 1,604 units. The Aventador line maintained the high level of the previous period with 673 units delivered. The largest single market for Lamborghini once again was the US, followed by Japan and the United Kingdom. The strongest region was Europe with an increase of more than 30%. Within Europe, Italy, the UK and Austria showed the highest growth rates. The outlook for Lamborghini continues to be strongly positive. The company has successfully completed the massive investment phase in the new development and production sites for the Urus model line at the Sant’Agata Bolognese Headquarters. Stefano Domenicali underlines: “After crossing the billion Euro turnover threshold for the first time in 2017, and with the first deliveries of our Super SUV starting, the stage is set for us to enter a new dimension for the company, while never compromising the exclusivity of our brand.” The company confirms its expectation of sustained solid growth for the reminder of the 2018 financial year.

Sant’Agata Bolognese, 23 September 2016 – Today, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi paid a visit to Lamborghini's production facilities at Sant’Agata Bolognese, in a moment of historic expansion being experienced by the company, a producer of excellence in Made in Italy craftsmanship.
Mr. Renzi was welcomed by Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali together with members of the company's management team. Mr. Renzi's delegation visited the factory where the Huracán and Aventador are produced. During their visit, they focused on a new area that is under construction, where a 70,000 square-meter manufacturing hub is being built for the new Lamborghini SUV slated to debut in 2018. Mr. Domenicali presented the expansion project to Mr. Renzi where work is proceeding quickly to complete the new factory, a new logistics center, a test track and additional R&D departments. The expansion will result in a significant increase in the number of employees and will also double sales volumes.
“Lamborghini is currently undergoing a momentous change. It is embarking on a remarkable period of growth, thanks to the new SUV to be launched in Sant’Agata Bolognese. This was made possible by the technical and industrial synergy of our Group and by the support of the Italian Government and the Emilia-Romagna Regional Administration. The project is a significant expression of a new approach to doing things together, through the joint efforts of government agencies, labor unions and companies; an approach involving different experience and responsibilities. Such a joint project is an activity that will effectively create confidence in the future, stimulate other positive examples of industrial growth and enhance our country's level of competitiveness,” said Mr. Domenicali.

Sant’Agata Bolognese / Geneva, 8 March 2018 – Automobili Lamborghini and Cervélo Cycles present the triathlon bicycle Cervélo P5X Lamborghini edition at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show.
The limited edition P5X features artwork by Automobili Lamborghini’s Centro Stile based at the company’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese. The iconic yellow topcoat and Y-shaped patterning on the frame and fork are familiar to Lamborghini enthusiasts, while a seat post number stamp denotes each model’s position in a production run of just 25 bikes.
The two companies share a combined passion for research and development and an unwavering commitment to raising the bar with every new product. This is evident in the new Cervélo P5X Lamborghini edition. The unique triathlon cycle combines bold new artwork with aerodynamically integrated storage, unprecedented micro-adjustability, and peerless aero performance honed by 180-plus hours of wind-tunnel testing.
“Our Lamborghini Accademia drivers have been training on Cervélo for some time now, so we already know how special, and how fast, these bikes are,” said Katia Bassi, Lamborghini’s Chief Marketing Officer. “With elite performance, outstanding design and innovation, this collaborative project was a natural fit for both brands.”
“This limited-edition speed machine unites brands that are passionate about world-class products and performance,” added Robert de Jonge, Managing Director at Cervélo Cycles. “Our triathletes lead the charge when it comes to racing, and now they can stand out from the crowd even more emphatically.”

New brand environment heralds forthcoming SUV and increased volumes “Lamborghini and our dealer partners are investing in a bright future”, says Automobili Lamborghini CEO Stefano DomenicaliSant’Agata Bolognese/Bristol, UK, 22 September 2016 – Automobili Lamborghini is preparing its international dealer network for the future, with the launch of a new dealership corporate identity and brand environment.
The first dealership to sport the new showroom design and service center officially opens today in Bristol, increasing the UK dealer network to eight outlets. The new corporate design will roll-out worldwide to all new and existing showrooms over the next years.
The new showroom environment reflects the need for increased space as Lamborghini expands its model line-up and doubles sales with the launch of its new SUV by 2018.
“Lamborghini is a strong, highly-acclaimed brand worldwide, and our new dealership environment is a very tangible demonstration of this, perfectly communicating our philosophies of Pure, Visionary and Cutting Edge,” said Automobili Lamborghini Chief Executive Officer, Stefano Domenicali. “It is also important that we continue to build a solid, committed dealer network that clearly communicates our brand to loyal and new clients in both the way we look and the way we operate. Both Lamborghini and our dealer partners are investing in a bright future.”
The new showroom exteriors are instantly recognizable by the illuminated Lamborghini shield on a black background that glows at night, and complemented by a black totem sporting the Lamborghini bull logo. The new showroom space is bright and clean, characterized by polygons, sharp forms, raw surfaces and a diffusion of light and color. Opportunities to literally ‘touch and feel’ the world of Lamborghini include digital elements to enhance the customer experience: a client lounge includes a car configuration system to guide the customer through specifying his Lamborghini; product and Ad Personam areas provide samples of exterior and interior finishes and allow clients to physically touch and play with combinations of colors and materials, such as soft leathers or the appearance of carbon fiber.
The range of Lamborghini models is displayed, with a car on a white center-stage uplit by LED lights in a complementary color to its exterior. Video walls give clients and even passers-by an insight into the world of Lamborghini. An area dedicated to Accessori Originali displays aftersales enhancements, and includes a digital experience with headphones and screen to explore and even hear product features such as engine sounds. The Collezione Automobili Lamborghini range of clothing and accessories has a dedicated space in the entrance, visible from both inside and through the showroom windows.

like, you could do worse than to see the vehicles that today’s auto designers collect, rebuild and restore.
That’s part of the attraction of Design on Woodward, the annual car show featuring classics and performance cars owned by members of General Motors’s design staff.
Designers, model makers, sculptors and more parade their vehicles from Design HQ at the GM tech center in Warren to Memorial Park on the corner of Woodward Avenue and 13 Mile Road during Dream Cruise week each year.
Refreshingly, the show isn’t a GM-only affair. This year’s display included performance cars of all stripes, from a Dodge Neon SRT-4 to a $100,000-plus Audi R8.Anybody who thinks the idea of high-roofed family vehicles like the Chevy Traverse and Ford Explorer are new might change their mind after walking around a spacious and ornate 1950s Chevrolet station wagon. The proportions of ‘50s classics may hold many clues to automakers’ design plans for the next generation of SUV-passenger car crossovers. The best of frenemies, a 1965 Chevrolet Impala with a 283 V8, was parked next to a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach One next to Woodward, where the brands have competed for bragging rights for decades. Pickups are a rising trend in car collecting, performance and customization. A blue-green 1970 Chevy pickup looked prehistoric compared to a modern Silverado. A lifted, chopped-top Blazer SUV proved the idea of fun, sporty SUVs is nothing new.Contact Mark Phelan: mmphelan@freepress.com or 313-222-6731. Follow him on Twitter @mark_phelan.
