Buildings of the Stuttgart car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz have been searched as part of a corruption investigation. “We are the injured party in this case and have filed a complaint,” said the Dax group on Tuesday. Mercedes-Benz did not give any further details. The public prosecutor’s office in Stuttgart said it was about the allegation of “commercial bribery and corruption in business dealings”. The investigations were directed against two employees of the company. No further details were initially given.
“Bild” reported, citing investigators, that it should be about millions. According to the report, the suspects managed to get certain suppliers to be awarded orders. They should have received a reward for this. According to “Bild”, the public prosecutor’s office has commissioned the State Criminal Police Office in Stuttgart to investigate. The officials searched parts of the purchasing and development departments and confiscated a cell phone and computer, among other things.
