As VW is set to phase out the internal combustion engine version of the car, we would like to hear your memories

The Volkswagen Golf is well-loved by drivers, but after nearly 50 years in production the Golf Mark 8 will be the last combustion engine version of the hatchback. While VW plans to keep the name for a future electric version, this will be seen as the end of an era.

With this in mind, we would like to hear your memories of your first VW Golf. Perhaps it was your first car? What did it mean to you?
