According to a tweet from the police, there is no danger to the employees in the plant.

According to the Stuttgart public prosecutor’s office, shots were fired at the Mercedes plant in Sindelfingen and one person died. “Two people were injured, one of whom has since died. One person was arrested,” a spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office said on Thursday. “We assume that it is a single perpetrator and that no other people outside the plant are involved.”
The investigation was ongoing, police and rescue workers are still on site. The Ludwigsburg police confirmed an operation on the factory premises via Twitter. There is no danger for the employees in the plant and for the population. “No killing spree,” the police said.
“We confirm that the police and rescue services have been deployed to the Sindelfingen plant since this morning,” the carmaker said. Due to the ongoing police investigation, the company could not comment further.
